TAILGATING IN YOUR RV
Football season is on the horizon, which means that the time to tailgate is upon us! When you own an RV, you can make your tailgating party even better because you have a built-in cozy retreat with kitchen, bathroom, awning and power sources. With all these amenities, your tailgating party is sure to be amazing.
If you’re a fan of tailgating, you should give some of these tips for making an RV tailgating party a rousing success. Need service on your RV to get it into shape for the fall? USE A SLOW COOKER
Slow cookers are very handy devices on RVs because they take up almost no space and generate very little heat, but they can prepare a great quantity of hot food while you’re busy elsewhere. They’ll also keep your food warm while you get the rest of the party set up, so you can have a big pot of chili or queso con carne or sausages or pulled pork all hot and ready to go.
COOLERS CAN KEEP FOOD HOT
If you’re in need of more places to keep food hot, you can use a cooler for that because the insulation works for either temperature extreme! You could have one cooler full of ice and sodas and beers, and another cooler full of your hot sandwiches, ribs, corn on the cob or burritos to keep them hot for hours. A cooler will limit how much moisture is lost in your food compared to other heating and chafing dishes which means it will stay delicious, too.
SET UP YOUR TV OUTSIDE
When the weather is good, you can set up your TV outside to let everyone watch an earlier game to get them in the mood. During the season, you’ll inevitably have plenty of games to choose from. You could even set up a gaming system to let people play football video games instead!
USE A PROPANE GRILL FOR FASTER CLEAN-UP
Grilling is an integral part of tailgating, but it can be a pain to clean up a wood or charcoal grill when you’re all done making burgers and hot dogs. You don’t want to have to deal with pounds of smoldering coals when it’s time to head to the game, either. Propane grills can improve your tailgating experience greatly by being easy to clean up.
SET UP A MOBILE HAND WASH STATION
When eating messy food, people will need to wash their hands frequently, but all that traffic in and out of your RV can be crowded and make a mess. It’s easy to set up a mobile hand washing station outside your RV so everyone can get their hands clean quickly before and after eating. Use a large water cooler on a table as a faucet, set out a soap pump and some paper towels, and have a bucket under the spout to catch the soapy water. Dispose of the water down a drain later or use it to wash your car!
KEEP SAFETY EQUIPMENT NEARBY
To ensure your tailgating party goes off without a hitch, you should have some vital safety equipment on hand. A first aid kit that’s well-stocked with bandages, ointments and medications should be in your trailer. You should also have at least two fire extinguishers to hand, particularly when cooking a great deal.
